MP welcomes repair at Weymouth Train Station

South Dorset MP Lloyd Hatton has welcomed the repair of a broken door at Weymouth train station, describing it as a “small win” while pledging to continue pressing for further improvements at the site.

In a video shared on social media, Mr Hatton said the repair followed a meeting held just over a week earlier with the Managing Director of South Western Railway, during which several issues at the station were raised.

Speaking in the video, he said: “It’s been just over a week since I had a meeting with the Managing Director of South Western Railway where I raised a few issues here at Weymouth train station, including fixing the broken door. It’s really good the door has been fixed in just a few days. This is a small win but it all adds up.”

The MP added that his next priority would be pushing for a fully working toilet at the station, an issue that has previously been raised by passengers.

In the accompanying post, Mr Hatton thanked South Western Railway for acting quickly to resolve the problem and said he would continue to work with the operator to improve facilities for passengers using the station.
