Appeal for Witnesses Following Assault at Football Match
Police are appealing for witnesses after a member of security staff was assaulted during a football match at The Avenue Stadium in Dorchester.
The incident occurred on the afternoon of Saturday 27 December 2025, during a game involving Dorchester Town Football Club and Weymouth Football Club.
It was reported that the victim, who was working as a security steward at the match, was punched and kicked by an attendee he was attempting to escort from the stadium.
The man was taken to hospital with injuries to his head and ribs, which were not believed to be serious.
Police Constable Daniel Walker, of Dorchester Police, said:
“No one deserves to be assaulted at their place of work and we have been exploring all lines of enquiry to identify the person involved.
“We are continuing to investigate this matter and I would urge anyone who attended the game and witnessed the assault, or has information about what happened, to please contact us if you haven’t done so already.”
