Application submitted for alcohol sales at Weymouth Beach kiosk
Alcohol sales may soon be permitted on Weymouth Beach following a licence application for a kiosk located on the sands opposite Marks & Spencer.
The application has been submitted by Wintertime Events Ltd, which is seeking permission for both on-site and off-site alcohol sales at a beach kiosk leased from Weymouth Town Council.
A Premises Licence request lodged with Dorset Council proposes alcohol sales from 10am until 10.30pm, with an earlier 9.30am opening on Saturdays and a 10pm finish on Sundays. For the peak summer period, between 1 July and 2 September, the applicant is requesting permission to begin sales at 9am each day.
The licence application identifies the proposed premises licence holder as Sara Hall, who holds a personal licence issued by Bolsover District Council. Ms Hall, aged 45, has been a director of Wintertime Events Ltd since 2019, alongside fellow director Ernest Hall. The company is registered at an address in Selston, Nottinghamshire, and lists its business activity as amusement and recreational services.
According to the application, the kiosk — identified as plot SC4 — would not host music or live entertainment. The site would be monitored using CCTV, with fire safety equipment provided and disabled access in place.
