Body Found on Weymouth Seafront near Shelter
A number of police cars and ambulances are currently dealing with an incident along Weymouth seafront.
Emergency services were called to Weymouth promenade earlier today, where a cordon has been put in place while the situation is ongoing. Several police vehicles and ambulances can be seen at the scene, with officers restricting access to parts of the seafront.
The nature of the incident has not yet been confirmed, and members of the public are being advised to avoid the area while emergency services carry out their work.
Dorset Police and the South Western Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We received a report at 7.39am on Wednesday, December 17, that a man had been found unresponsive in the area of the Esplanade in Weymouth.
“Emergency services attended and, very sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 07:33hrs on Wednesday 17 December to an incident in Weymouth. We sent two double-crewed land ambulances, and a rapid response vehicle to the scene.”
