Irish Dancing Could Be Coming to Weymouth This February
Irish dancing may soon be stepping its way into Weymouth, with plans underway to launch new classes in the town from February.
The Phipps Houlihan School of Irish Dance, an established and successful school already based in Hertfordshire, is exploring the possibility of opening classes locally. The move comes after seeing first-hand the confidence, joy and strong sense of community that Irish dancing brings to dancers of all ages.
The school offers professional, qualified teaching with a focus on creativity, coordination and confidence-building, while also encouraging lifelong friendships. Classes would be open to children, teenagers and adults, welcoming complete beginners through to more experienced dancers.
If launched, sessions would include Beginner, Intermediate and Open-level classes, ensuring there is something suitable for everyone, regardless of previous experience.
Organisers are currently gauging interest from the local community before confirming venues and class times. Anyone interested in taking part, or learning more about Irish dancing in Weymouth, is encouraged to get in touch.
