Queen Charlotte Care Home Opens Doors with New Community Café in Chickerell

Queen Charlotte Care Home in Chickerell is inviting local residents to step inside its newly enhanced facilities with the launch of a new monthly community café, designed to bring people together while offering professional support and advice.

The free event will take place on Friday, January 30, from 10am to noon, and will continue on the last Friday of every month, welcoming anyone from the local community who would like to enjoy coffee, conversation, or guidance around care needs.

A spokesperson for Queen Charlotte Care Home said the café is about far more than refreshments.

“We are thrilled to open our doors to the Chickerell community. Our new café isn’t just about coffee and cake; it’s a space where people can find genuine friendship and professional support. Whether you want to tour our beautiful new roof terrace or need a quiet word with Admiral Nurse Noela Chituh regarding dementia care, you are warmly invited.”

At the inaugural café, Admiral Nurse Noela Chituh will be available to answer questions about dementia and caring for loved ones at home, offering expert, confidential advice in an informal and welcoming setting.

The café launch coincides with what the care home describes as an “exciting new chapter”, following a multi-million-pound extension and enhancement project. Visitors will be able to look around the home’s new facilities, which include:

• Luxurious new bedroom suites

• A roof terrace with sweeping views of the Dorset countryside

• A new community café

• State-of-the-art kitchen and laundry facilities

• A sensory garden designed to support wellbeing

Queen Charlotte Care Home, located on Chickerell Road, Chickerell, is part of the Kingsley Healthcare group and holds a number of quality and employment accreditations, reflecting its commitment to both residents and staff.

The event also offers families an opportunity to explore different care environments and decide what feels right for their loved ones.

“We don’t just provide care; we provide a community where residents truly thrive. Whether you are drawn to the elegance of Weymouth Manor’s cinema and salon or the warm, award-winning environment at Queen Charlotte, this event allows you to experience that atmosphere firsthand. It’s about finding the perfect fit for your loved one’s personality and needs.”

Everyone is welcome to attend the café, whether they are seeking advice, considering care options, or simply looking to spend time in friendly company.
