STAY SAFE SEASON | Weymouth & Portland

As the wet weather continues, neighbourhood policing teams in Weymouth and Portland have been out and about no matter the conditions, helping people stay safe across the area.
Recent activity includes:
• On Portland, an offender suspected of being one of the main perpetrators behind recent offences and anti-social behaviour was located by officers, arrested and later charged. He has now been given bail conditions, including a curfew and a prohibition area, and is due to appear in court for sentencing in the coming weeks.
• In Weymouth, officers have continued high-visibility patrols in response to local concerns, engaging with residents and businesses and taking action where necessary to prevent crime and anti-social behaviour.
• Officers across Weymouth and Portland have also been responding to reports from members of the public, checking suspicious activity and vehicles, and providing reassurance during the colder, wetter winter months.
Dorset Police officers will continue regular patrols in Weymouth and Portland to help keep communities safe.
We urge members of the public to continue reporting incidents — if we don’t know about it, we can’t tackle it. You can contact us via our website or by calling 101. If a crime is in progress or there is danger to life, always call 999.
