Storm Goretti: 100 Staff on Standby as Heavy Rain, Strong Winds and Icy Conditions Hit Overnight

Around 100 staff are on standby as Storm Goretti brings heavy rain, strong winds, and a brief wintry spell tonight.

Gritting will be carefully timed for periods when road temperatures are expected to fall below freezing, with main routes treated first, followed by other roads as conditions allow. Overnight crews are ready to respond to severe flooding and fallen trees, while higher and hill roads may experience light snow and icy patches.

The most challenging conditions are expected between midnight and 6am. If travel is essential, please slow down, leave extra space between vehicles, and allow additional time for your journey.

Urgent highway issues can be reported on 01305 221000. We will continue to monitor conditions closely and adapt our response as required.
