The Lantern Trust: Housing Portfolio: Creating Homes That Change Lives

The Lantern Trust is an independent, Weymouth-based charity founded in 1983 that supports vulnerable, homeless, and marginalized people in the Weymouth and Portland area.

At The Lantern Trust, they believe that housing is far more than a roof over someone’s head – it’s the foundation for lasting change.

Currently, they own and lease four properties, with plans to expand their housing portfolio in the near future. Each home is carefully managed and maintained to the highest standard, because everyone deserves a safe, secure place to call home.

💡 Why their Model Works
Their residents don’t just receive accommodation – they benefit from a fully integrated, multi‑disciplinary support system, which includes:
• Physical and mental health support
• Housing and benefits advice
• Domestic abuse support
• Meaningful activities and educational opportunities
• Dedicated tenancy sustainment support

By bringing these services together within an integrated neighbourhood approach, they help residents stabilise, rebuild, and move forward with confidence. This joined‑up model delivers real, long-term outcomes – not just short-term fixes.

Supporting Positive Futures
Through strong relationships with landlords, housing associations, and local partners, they provide pathways that help residents transition successfully into longer-term housing when they’re ready.

They’re proud of the homes they provide, the partnerships they’ve built, and the lives being changed every day — and they’re excited about what comes next.

Homes. Support. Lasting Change.
