Weldmar Hospicecare’s second annual ‘Make A Will Month’ to take place this October

Dorset charity Weldmar Hospicecare has announced that their second ‘Make A Will Month’ will take place this October, following a successful initial campaign last year.

Local people can take advantage of a free Will writing service with a number of local solicitors. Selected local branches of Battens, Blanchards Bailey, Hillman Legal Partnerships, Humphries Kirk, Kitson & Trotman, Nantes, and Porter Dodson will be offering the free service at appointments during October, with a suggested donation to Weldmar Hospicecare from anyone taking up the offer.

It’s estimated that just over half of all adults in the UK do not have a Will, which would ensure their money and property goes to the right people and saves additional stress for the family at an already difficult time.

Sarah Balchin is Weldmar’s Legacy Fundraiser, and says,

“Having a Will is really important, and can provide peace of mind at the most difficult time.  We are delighted that a number of local solicitors have come on board and we thank them for giving their time to this important campaign, so that we can encourage more people to write their Will”.

Money donated in Wills directly pays for one in three patients that Weldmar cares for, either in the comfort of their own home by Weldmar Community Nurses or at their Inpatient Unit in Dorchester.
