Jubilee Clock Lights Up for Animal Welfare Charity in Weymouth
Jubilee Clock to Shine Blue and White for RSPCA West Dorset.
Weymouth’s Jubilee Clock is being illuminated in blue and white this week in support of RSPCA West Dorset (Taylor’s Rehoming Centre).
The seafront landmark is lit from today, Monday 9 February, until Monday 16 February as part of the Jubilee Clock Light Up Scheme, which recognises local charities and community causes.
RSPCA West Dorset’s Taylor’s Rehoming Centre works to improve the lives of animals across the local area, focusing particularly on cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and other small animals. The charity rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes vulnerable animals, while also promoting responsible pet ownership and providing advice to help prevent cruelty and neglect.
Danni Cox, Chair of RSPCA West Dorset, said the recognition was important for the charity and its supporters.
“Being recognised by the Jubilee Clock Light Up Scheme is incredibly meaningful to us—it celebrates the compassion of our local supporters and shines a light on the vital role animal welfare plays in our community,” she said.
“This recognition raises awareness and reinforces the importance of kindness and care for animals across West Dorset and beyond.”
The charity also operates a Weymouth shop, which helps fund its work caring for animals in need.
The Jubilee Clock Light Up Scheme regularly highlights charities, national awareness campaigns and local organisations by lighting the historic clock in different colours throughout the year.
