Border Force Presence in Weymouth Harbour

Border Force officers were visible in Weymouth Harbour this morning as part of ongoing efforts under Project Kraken, a national initiative aimed at keeping the UK’s coastline safe.

Project Kraken works by bringing together Border Force, the Coastguard, police and coastal communities to help identify and report suspicious or unusual activity along the coast and at sea. From walkers on the shoreline to those working or boating in harbours, the scheme relies on public awareness as a key line of defence.

Authorities stress that even small observations can make a significant difference. Members of the public are encouraged to trust their instincts and report anything that feels out of place.

In an emergency, the public should call the emergency services and ask for the Coastguard. For non-urgent concerns, call 101 and quote “Project Kraken.”

The initiative forms part of a wider national strategy to protect ports, harbours and coastal infrastructure through cooperation and vigilance.
