Scottish Spirit Comes to Queen Charlotte Care Home This Sunday for Burns Night Celebration
The sound of fiddles and the rhythm of traditional dance will fill Queen Charlotte Care Home this Sunday as it opens its doors to the local community for a lively Burns Night celebration, honouring Scotland’s national poet, Robert Burns.
Running from 2pm to 5pm, the free afternoon event will feature live music from Murphy’s Lore Celtic Band, alongside traditional performances by the Weymouth Scottish Country Dancers, creating a festive atmosphere of Scottish tradition, music and movement.
Hosted at Queen Charlotte Care Home on Chickerell Road, Chickerell, the celebration brings residents, families and neighbours together to mark Burns Night while also supporting a vital local cause. While attendance is free, voluntary donations will be welcomed in aid of Weldmar Hospicecare, helping to support people across Dorset living with life-limiting illness.
A spokesperson for the home said the Burns Night event reflects Queen Charlotte’s commitment to community connection and wellbeing, giving residents the opportunity to enjoy live entertainment while welcoming visitors from the wider community.
Anyone planning to attend is asked to let the home know in advance by calling 01305 510 326.
