Mayor’s disco night for charity in Weymouth

Residents across Weymouth and the surrounding area are being invited to dust off their dancing shoes and step back into the groovy sounds of the 1960s and 1970s for a special charity fundraiser hosted by the Mayor of Weymouth.

Taking place on Friday 10 April at The Centenary Club, the themed disco promises an evening filled with music, laughter and community spirit, all in support of the Mayor’s chosen charity, Weldmar Hospicecare. Doors will open at 7pm, with the event starting at 7.30pm.

The event aims to bring the community together for a night of nostalgic fun while raising vital funds for Weldmar Hospicecare, which provides specialist end-of-life care and support to patients and families across Dorset.

Guests are encouraged to embrace the theme, with fancy dress optional but warmly welcomed. Those who choose to don their best disco-inspired outfits will also have the chance to win a prize for one of the evening’s best costumes.

Organisers hope the event will attract residents of all ages looking to enjoy a lively evening while supporting an important local cause.

The Mayor’s charity fundraiser is expected to be a highlight of the local social calendar, combining classic hits, dancing and fundraising for a charity that plays a vital role in the community.
