South Dorset MP Lloyd Hatton has welcomed the repair of a broken door at Weymouth train station after raising the issue with South Western Railway.

In a video online, he described the fix as a “small win” and says he’ll now push for a fully working toilet at the station.

The rail operator has been thanked for taking swift action.

Council tax rise approved to help fund Dorset Police

Plans for BT Hub outside Weymouth railway station

Plans have been submitted for a third BT Street Hub in Weymouth.

The latest proposal would see the unit placed outside the railway Station.

The scheme follows earlier proposals for similar installations on St Mary Street and along the Esplanade.

Weymouth pub to get new signage

A well-known Weymouth town centre pub could soon be operating under a new name.

Plans have been submitted to Dorset Council to change The Golden Lion to The Tin Cat.

Pub operator Greene King is seeking approval for new signage, updated lighting and a full exterior repaint of the St Edmund Street premises.

Public consultation on the proposals is open until early March.

Mayor’s disco night for charity in Weymouth
