Weymouth pub to get new signage
A well-known Weymouth town centre pub is looking for council approval for new signage under it’s new name
new name.
Plans have been submitted to Dorset Council to change The Golden Lion to The Tin Cat.
it has always had the nickname The Tin Cat with locals.
Pub operator Greene King is seeking approval for new signage, updated lighting and a full exterior repaint of the St Edmund Street premises, although it is believed that some of this has ordinarily happened prior to official approval.
Public consultation on the proposals is open until early March.
According to planning documents, the existing signage has been in place for a considerable period and is now showing signs of age and weather damage. The proposed changes include replacing the signs and repainting the exterior in white, with the aim of refreshing the building while respecting its heritage.
