Queen Charlotte Care Home, in Chickerell Road, Chickerell, is celebrating its regal connections to King George III and Queen Charlotte with an open afternoon to showcase its fabulous new facilities.Emma spoke to Home Manager Mark Grundonner who proudly talked about the completed multi-million-pound development that has added luxurious new bedroom suites and other fabulous features, including a roof terrace, community café, state-of-the-art kitchen and laundry facilities and a sensory garden. The care home chose a Royal theme for the open day because of the building’s historic connections to King George III. The resident in the white cardigan is a spritely 102 years old. Tonight is the end of era. Sadly after 10 years on air at Air I have made the decision to step back from broadcasting on Weymouth and Portland's very own local radio station. There are simply too many people to thank for their support and guidance over the years so I cannot begin to even try. My utmost gratitude has to go to our listeners for their appreciation over the years, my thanks to anyone who ever took the time to get in touch and I hope by something I said or played we did make you smile.
